AXA Health Physiotherapy in London
IP Physio treats AXA Health members at all four of our London clinics, and we invoice AXA directly once your claim has been opened and authorised.
What to have ready before your first session
- Your AXA Health membership number
- The pre-authorisation reference issued for physiotherapy
- How many sessions AXA has approved
- Your policy excess, which is collected by us rather than the insurer
- Referral letter and any imaging reports relating to the problem
Getting the claim authorised
Ring the member helpline printed on your policy card, say you would like physiotherapy, describe the area that is bothering you, and name IP Physio (Ilias Paschopoulos) as the practice you want to attend. The adviser will log the claim and read out an authorisation reference along with the number of visits they have released.
Our AXA-PPP provider number is IP00804. Have it ready if the adviser asks for our practice details.
AXA Health is one of the insurers most likely to want a GP or consultant referral in place before physiotherapy is signed off. Sorting that out before you contact us keeps the process quick, though the AXA adviser is the one who will confirm whether your particular plan needs it.
Appointment format under AXA cover
AXA-funded sessions mirror the Bupa structure: a 45-minute first assessment followed by 30-minute reviews. Self-funded patients are seen for an hour at every appointment.
Tell us your preferred clinic when you enquire and we will match it to availability that suits the authorised session count.
Payment and extending treatment
We invoice the insurer for you, so there is nothing to reclaim afterwards, as long as a valid authorisation reference is in place before your first visit. Anything your policy makes you personally liable for, most commonly the excess, is settled with us on the day.
Approaching the end of your approved visits is not a problem if you know about it in advance, so we tell you before the last one. AXA can usually release further sessions when there is a clinical reason, and we will write the supporting summary.
