    Bupa Physiotherapy in London

IP Physio is a recognised physiotherapy provider for both Bupa UK and Bupa Global members across our Soho, Marylebone, Canary Wharf and Notting Hill Gate clinics in London.

What to have ready before your first session

    • Your Bupa membership number, taken from your card or policy paperwork
    • The authorisation reference Bupa gives you when the claim is opened
    • The number of sessions Bupa has released for this episode of care
    • The excess figure on your policy, if any, since that part is paid to us directly
    • Any GP or consultant letter, plus scan or X-ray reports you already hold

Opening your claim before you book

Ring the member helpline printed on your policy card, say you would like physiotherapy, describe the area that is bothering you, and name IP Physio (Ilias Paschopoulos) as the practice you want to attend. The adviser will log the claim and read out an authorisation reference along with the number of visits they have released.

When the adviser asks for our provider details, give our Bupa UK provider number 80014661 for a UK policy, or 919878 for a Bupa Global plan.

In some circumstances Bupa asks for a GP or consultant letter before it will release physiotherapy sessions. You do not need a referral to see us privately, only to satisfy Bupa's own rules, and the adviser will tell you on the call whether your policy requires one.

    How your appointments are scheduled

Bupa UK-funded care follows the insurer's own session lengths rather than our self-pay format: the first assessment runs for 45 minutes and each review afterwards is 30 minutes. Bupa Global-funded appointments are 60 minutes for both the initial assessment and every follow-up. Patients paying privately are booked in hour-long slots throughout.

If you would prefer a longer initial assessment than Bupa UK funds, tell us when you enquire and we will explain how that works alongside your claim.

Billing, excess and running out of sessions

We invoice the insurer for you, so there is nothing to reclaim afterwards, as long as a valid authorisation reference is in place before your first visit. Anything your policy makes you personally liable for, most commonly the excess, is settled with us on the day.

When the released visits are used up and we still think treatment is worthwhile, we flag it early. We then complete the extension request through the Bupa provider portal and provide a short clinical summary. Bupa issues a new authorisation code, which you will receive directly from them, so you do not need to make the call yourself. Continuing on a self-pay basis or pausing with a home programme are both options if the request is declined.
