    Home Visit Physiotherapy

Home visit physiotherapy brings the same clinical standard to you when attending a clinic is not possible after surgery, injury or with reduced mobility. Visits are delivered across central London by chartered physiotherapist Ilias Paschopoulos and the IP Physio team, with portable testing equipment brought to your home.

    Who home visits are for

Patients in the early weeks after joint replacement, ligament reconstruction, spinal or upper limb surgery, when travel is painful or impractical. People with significant mobility limitation, non-weight-bearing restrictions or a fresh fracture. Older adults for whom the journey itself is the barrier to being treated consistently.

There is a clinical advantage as well as a practical one. Treating you at home lets us see the stairs you actually climb, the chair you get out of, the bathroom you manage and the bed you transfer from, and adapt the programme to those specifics rather than to a generic version of them.

    What a visit includes

A full assessment, hands-on treatment where indicated, gait and transfer practice in your own environment, an exercise programme using what you have available, and advice on equipment, positioning and safe progression. We bring portable dynamometry so strength is still measured rather than estimated.

Home visits work well as a bridge. Most patients start at home in the early post-operative phase and transition into clinic-based and then gym-based rehabilitation as mobility improves, which is usually where the more demanding strength work needs to happen.

Visits are available across central London and are typically 60 minutes. Availability depends on travel time, so please give us your postcode when you enquire.

    Our objective-data approach

Portable handheld dynamometry travels with us, so limb symmetry and strength progress are tracked with the same numbers we would use in clinic.

Functional benchmarks measured in your own home, sit-to-stand repetitions, stair negotiation, timed walking and transfer independence, give practical, repeatable markers of recovery.

Once you can attend clinic, ForceDecks force plate testing picks up the deeper capacity assessment that cannot be replicated at home, which is one reason we plan the transition early.
