Online Physiotherapy
Online physiotherapy is a video consultation with chartered physiotherapist Ilias Paschopoulos of IP Physio, London. It delivers a structured assessment, a diagnosis where one can be reached remotely, and a progressive rehabilitation programme with ongoing review, for patients anywhere who cannot easily attend our clinics in person.
What a video consultation can genuinely do
Remote physiotherapy has moved well past being a pandemic workaround. For the right presentation it delivers real clinical value: a thorough history, guided movement and functional testing on camera, a working diagnosis, and a rehabilitation programme built for the equipment you actually have.
A large proportion of physiotherapy value comes from accurate diagnosis, correct exercise selection, appropriate dosage and progression, and expert guidance over time. None of that requires the practitioner to be in the room. Much of the hands-on component is comfort-focused and short-lived; the loading programme is what changes the outcome.
Sessions work particularly well for tendinopathy management, running and training load problems, back and neck pain, post-surgical programme progression between in-person reviews, second opinions, and patients who travel frequently or live outside London.
How sessions run
You receive a secure video link. We take a detailed history, then guide you through movement, strength and functional tests on camera, using your own furniture, bands or weights as the load. You get a clear explanation of the findings and a written programme with video demonstrations.
Follow-ups review technique, progress the loading and adjust the plan. Between sessions you can send video of an exercise if you are unsure, which is often more useful than waiting a fortnight to be corrected.
We are also clear about the limits. If your presentation needs hands-on assessment, imaging or a specific test we cannot perform remotely, we say so and arrange an in-person appointment at one of our London clinics or refer you appropriately.
Our objective-data approach
Where you have access to equipment, we use it: measured repetitions to failure, timed holds, standardised hop and calf raise tests and phone slow-motion video give quantifiable markers we can retest at every session.
Objective load tracking, sets, reps, weight and tolerance recorded weekly, keeps progression evidence-based rather than based on how you felt that day.
For patients who can attend one of our clinics periodically, we combine remote sessions with in-person dynamometry and ForceDecks testing so the programme still has hard data behind it.
